Classes

   

Classes are taught at Fundación ESTEMA, a private University Center, which is located in the very center of Valencia on the Avenida Blasco Ibáñez.

Classes are taught in modern, air-conditioned classrooms by qualified native Spanish professors.

Your group may take 2 subjects. Please keep in mind that there must be at least 15 students with a similar level of Spanish per subject.

Each course meets for two hours and fifteen minutes per day, Monday through Friday.

 

Transfer of Credits

 

Upon completion of the course academic records will be forwarded to the students´ home universities and academic credit transfer is possible by negotiation with individual universities.

 

Example of Courses and levels offered
  The following is an example of the course offering which your group may choose from. Universities may request that other subjects be available for a particular group. Please keep in mind that there must be a minimum of 15 students with a similar level of Spanish per course.  
 

Beginner Level ("100" level) - Essentials of the Spanish language.

 
     
 

Elementary Spanish Grammar (45 hours of instruction).

 
  An introduction to the basic grammatical structures of Spanish with the objectives of developing an elementary ability to speak, understand, read and write the language.  
     
 

Elementary Spanish Conversation (45 hours of instruction).

 
 

An introduction to oral Spanish as spoken in Spain.

 
     
 

Intermediate Level ("200" level) - Designed for students with one year of university Spanish.

 
     
  Intermediate Spanish Grammar and Composition (45 hours of instruction).  
  A review and drill of the elements of Spanish grammar and syntax with special emphasis on developing the ability to organize and to write correctly and fluently in Spanish.  
     
  Intermediate Spanish Conversation (45 hours of instruction).  
  The refinement of conversational skills applied to everyday situations. Vocabulary building and fluency are emphasized.  
     
 

 

 
 
     
 

Advanced Level ("300" level) - Designed for students with at least two years of university Spanish.

 
     
 

Oral Fluency and Writing (45 hours of instruction).

 
  This course is designed to improve oral proficiency and writing skills through class discussions, projects and presentations. Realia such as newspapers and magazines will be used.  
     
  Contemporary Topics in Spanish Culture (45 hours of instruction).  
  This course will present the students with the fundamentals of Spanish culture and society, both historically and in modern Spain.  
     
  Geography of Spain (45 hours of instruction).  
  A study of the economic, demographic and regional panorama of Spain and its inhabitants. Spain as part of the European Economic Community.
